Emilio Aguinaldo College of Medicine
Emilio Aguinaldo College of Medicine was founded and established by Dr. Paulo C. Campos, who is a National Scientist in Nuclear Medicine for students who wanted to study MBBS. On July 23 with 24 enrollees, it was formally opened and Dr. Salvador R. Salceda, an ophthalmologist became the first Dean from 2001 to 2003, followed by a gastroenterologist, Dr. Esteban P. Pineda from 2003 to 2010, then a surgical oncologist, Dr. Conrado C. Cajucom from 2010 to 2013 and the fourth and present Dean is Dr. Asuncion L. Ama School Of Medicine
AMA School of Medicine is a medical school of the AMA Education System (AMAES) imparting an MD degree, which is equivalent to an MBBS degree in India and is housed in AMA College, Makati. At AMASOM, the MD degree is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). Indian students will be given a license to practice in India after their MD graduation from AMASOM, which is similar to MBBS doctors from India after completion of licensing formalities with the MCI. Liceo de Cagayan University
The Liceo de Cagayan University is a non-sectarian university in Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines. It has twelve colleges and five departments. It is the second largest university in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental after Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan. The curriculum structure of MBBS education at Liceo College of Medicine follows a Discipline-based Approach utilizing the best strategies of teaching and learning on basic sciences with clinical applications and clinical sciences with basic sciences correlations. This approach will utilize the Spiral Model as the framework of the curriculum. The MBBS curriculum implementation shall cover four years of academic and clinical training wherein the fourth-year level will be devoted to a 12-month clerkship program.
Liceo College of Medicine was founded in 1955 by Rodolfo Pelaez of Cagayan de Oro City and his wife Elsa Pelaez of Cebu City. The institution got its University/Level III status in 1998 from the Commission on Higher Education. In 2003, Rafaelita P. Golez served as President of the university. It holds the most number of accreditations from PACU-COA in Region X. During its first 25 years, the Liceo College of Medicine was only a tertiary-level institution offering courses in law, commerce, engineering and liberal arts. It was not until 1981 that the Basic Education Department, consisting of the primary and secondary levels, completed the three curricular levels that Liceo College of Medicine is currently offering.
